Variable Data Chart

The variable data chart shows the relative expression values for one or more probes across a variable.   The probes that are shown are those that are selected.  The selection is often best made from the variable data table, starting with the most significant.

A box and whisker plot is created, with the box representing the 1st to the 3rd quartile of the data, the midline of the box being the median, and the whiskers extending beyond the 1st and 3rd quartiles by 1.5 inter-quartile ranges (1.5 IQR).   Each bar represents one group.  The data points for each bar are the mean signals for each sample in that group.

The number at the bottom of each bar shows the number of samples in that group.
